If only I could willfully die,
And be reborn in happiness
If only I could once again cry,
In the warm arms of a caress.
Where is the umbrella
That shielded me from the rain,
I’m lost and exposed,
Drenched in the drops of pain.
Let me back into that world,
Of carefree tears and innocent sun
My legs could carry me away from trouble
Into arms that were always open,
Honesty wasn’t just a poor joke
Selfishness was not oxygen
Punishment and rewards were not for sale,
And greed was not a weapon
Now my breath is heavy, tongue tied,
A million words packed into a meager sigh
Don’t strangle me with your filth
Oh please just let me cry.
