Xelerate

I seem to be doing visual design more than anything else in my free time these days. Here's a logo that I made for a company in Trivandrum. Banks have core banking softwares (open account etc) and they have peripheral software needs like managing logic on an ATM (maximum amount to be withdrawn, fine a person if he withdraws more than 5 times with another bank's card etc). Xelerate is one such software solution for these peripheral banking services. Their target customers are banks. The feeling they want to communicate is that they are fast and that they excel at what they do. Also, they want to emphasize that they can increase revenue and help grow banking business. The product name was already chosen by the client before they approached me for the logo.

I made two options for them. I wonder if it was because the product was so closely related to finance but somehow, mathematics was my inspiration for both concepts. I found the power vested in some mathematical operators to communicate excellence, fast growth and progress to be just perfect for this product.

The first concept was based on multiplication. An Asterisk * commonly stands for multiplication. Multiplication has a multitude of relevance with the product because it promises to multiply potential, revenue and satisfaction. An Asterisk also stands for ‘anything’ in computer file system parlance. A filename.* phrase indicates a filename with any extension. This meaning can be effectively used to communicate the versatility of the product.

Here's the logo with the wordmark and the version without it which can be used as an emblem. The asterisk shape has been derived from an 'X' since the product is called 'Xelerate'. The emblem is inspired from a coin to signify the financial flavor for the product.

I made a few taglines for them that showed how they could effectively use the logo in their communication. The lines below read:
'Double your revenue', 'we're flexible and support any business model', 'we multiply your business', 'we help you grow', 'our expertise multiplies your potential', 'we're growth multiplied by reliability'.
The second concept was based on exponent. The concept of exponent is ripe with 'power'. There is no need to explain how this concept worked well for the project at hand.

The logo with wordmark and the emblem:

A few taglines that I made with this version as well. They read:
'Growth powered by reliability', 'we help you accelerate', 'you can be powered by our expertise', 'see exponential growth in revenue'.
The client chose the second option, the Exponent.
